PGA Tour Canada adds new event in Peterborough, Ont.

PGA Tour Canada has added a ninth tournament to its 2013 schedule with the announcement of the Wildfire Invitational on Tuesday.

The event will take place August 29 to September 1 at Wildfire Golf Club in Peterborough, Ontario, the Tom McBroom designed course which is highlighted by pristine wetlands and creeks, naturally rolling terrain, unique glacial boulders and stunning natural vistas.

The event will be a pro-am format featuring amateurs playing in teams with two different PGA Tour Canada players on Thursday and Friday, with the final 36 holes reserved for professional competition.

The inaugural PGA Tour Canada season kicks off June 6 at the Times Colonist Island Savings Open in Victoria, B.C. The coast-to-coast season concludes at the Tour Championship of Canada presented by Freedom 55 Financial in September at Sunningdale Golf and Country Club in London, Ontario.
