PGA Tour Canada adds Thunder Bay event for 2014

Just days after concluding its inaugural season, PGA Tour Canada has announced an expansion of its schedule for next year.

The Thunder Bay Golf Classic will take place at Whitewater Golf Club next July 14-20, the week before the RBC Canadian Open.

"We're delighted to be coming to Thunder Bay next season as we see it as a perfect fit to host a PGA Tour Canada event," said PGA Tour Canada President Jeff Monday. "We look forward to establishing this tournament as a major attraction in the city and developing a strong relationship with the community for next season and beyond."

PGA Tour Canada's inaugural season featured nine events in 2013 including two new stops in Peterborough, Ont., and Cape Breton, Nova Scotia. Mackenzie Hughes of Dundas, Ont., finished as the top money winner this season and was among five players who secured playing status on the Tour next year.
