Jay Don Blake

Jay Don Blake birdied the fifth extra hole to defeat John Cook in a five-hole playoff that started with two other players -- Mark O'Meara and Peter Senior.

All four finished tied atop the leaderboard at 13-under par, forcing extra holes.

O'Meara and Senior were eliminated with bogeys on the third extra hole.

Blake's win earned him a measure of revenge against Cook who had beaten him in a playoff earlier this year at the Outback Steakhouse Pro-Am.

Rod Spittle of Niagara Falls, Ont., shot a final round 74 to finish tied for 11th at 5-under par. After starting the day just three back of the lead, Spittle struggled with a double bogey-bogey-bogey stretch starting at the ninth hole which put him out of contention.

Blake earned $456,000 for the win, the largest of his professional career and pushed his 2011 earnings to $1,004,319, the first time in his career he had earned over $ 1 million. His best year on the PGA TOUR came in 2000 when he won $590,109 and finished 82nd on the money list.

So far in 2011, 10 players have already earned $1 million with Tom Lehman leading all players with $1,793,009.

Sunday's five-hole playoff was the longest on the Champions Tour since Jay Haas and Bernhard Langer went seven holes at the 2008 Toshiba Classic.

It was the third straight event that a playoff was needed to decide a winner and the eighth of the year, which is one shy of the all-time Champions Tour record of nine set in 2002.
