Stacy Lewis and Brittany Lang share the lead through two rounds of the Sime Darby LPGA Malaysia event.

Lewis overcame a double bogey at the turn to post six of her birdies on the back nine including four in a row starting at No. 12 for a round of 65.

"I struggled last week and so it's nice to just get out there and shoot some good scores, and seeing putts going in is always a good thing," said Lewis, who equalled a tournament record with her round of 6-under.

Lang posted a bogey-free round of 67 to grab a share of the lead at 9-under par.

"I feel like I played a lot better yesterday but really only one shot better," said Lang. "I hit the ball well, not as good as yesterday and I made a couple of long putts and got some momentum."

Play was suspended on two separate occassions for a total of three hours because of a heavy thunderstorm, but all golfers finished their rounds. That's because the Kuala Lumpur Golf and Country Club is equipped with lights all around the course. It's the first time that anyone can remember the LPGA used lights on more than just the ninth and 18th holes to complete a round.

"I was so thankful they had them," said Lang. "The lights definitely helped, because that's an extra two, three hours of rest for us. So I was glad they had the lights and I was thankful they got done. You see a few shadows but other than that they are very helpful."

Dutch rookie Dewi Claire Schreefel bogeyed the par-4 14th and missed making it a three way tie for the lead after shooting 68 on Friday. She is tied for third with Na Yeon Choi, who also carded a 68.

Spanish sophomore Azahara Munoz is alone in fifth at 7-under par while world number one Yani Tseng is in a three way tie for sixth after carding a round of 67. Tseng is shooting for her seventh win of the season and second in a row, coming off last week's victory in Korea.

Michelle Wie is also tied at 6-under par after a second straight round of 68 while world number two Suzann Pettersen (69) and Paula Creamer (67) round out the top 10.

There are no Canadians entered in the event.
