Stuart Anderson sits tied for fourth after shooting the low round of the day, 63, at the Canadian Tour Championship

Stuart Anderson fired a 5-under 67 Saturday at The Auburn University Club in Alabama to advance to the second stage of PGA Tour Q-School.

The Sooke, B.C., golfer saved his best round of the week for last, carding six birdies and a single bogey to finish in a tie for third at the first stage qualifier. The top 19 and ties all advanced to the next stage.

Anderson makes a total of nine Canadians who managed to get through the first stage this week. Richard T. Lee of Vancouver, Ryan Yip of Calgary, Ted Brown of Peterborough, Cam Burke of New Hamburg, Ont., Derek Gillespie of Oshawa, Ont., Mike Mezei of Lethbridge, Alta., Andrew Parr of London, Ont. and David Morland IV or Aurora, Ont. also made through first stage qualifiers.

The second stage will be held at six locations next month starting November 15th and 16th.
