Only one team has ever rallied from a four point deficit on the final day of the Ryder Cup - the United States in that famous comeback at Brookline in 1999.
European captain Jose Maria Olazabal remembers it well because he was in the decisive match when Justin Leonard rolled in a 45-foot birdie putt on the 17th hole.
Is the Spaniard a big believer in fate?
"I believe momentum will come our way," Olazabal said following Saturday's Foursome and Fourball matches. "Why not [Sunday]?"
Olazabal borrowed a page from that American team at Brookline by loading the top of his singles lineup with his best players.
Luke Donald will lead off against Bubba Watson, followed by Ian Poulter against Webb Simpson.
The much anticipated Rory McIlroy - Tiger Woods showdown won't happen as the world number one has been drawn against Keegan Bradley, who has had the best rookie debut of any first time player at the Ryder Cup. Justin Rose will go up against Phil Mickelson while Brandt Snedeker meets Paul Lawrie.
Match number six features two of the longest hitters in the game. Dustin Johnson, considered one of the longest off the tee on the PGA Tour, faces the Belgian bomber, Nicolas Colsaerts, the longest hitter on the European Tour.
Zach Johnson takes on the struggling Graeme McDowell, who two years ago sank the putt in the final match at Celtic Manor to win the Ryder Cup for Europe.
Sergio Garcia has been drawn against Jim Furyk while Jason Dufner meets Peter Hanson.
Matt Kuchar will take on Lee Westwood and Steve Stricker has been drawn against Martin Kaymer.
U.S. captain Davis Love III saved Tiger Woods, who goes into Sunday winless at the Ryder Cup for the first tim ein his career, for the anchor match against Francesco Molinari. This is a rematch of the singles match from two years ago when Woods came back to defeat the Italian. Molinari will be looking to avenge that 4 & 3 defeat which saw him squander a 2-up lead against Woods, who turned the match around with five birdies and an eagle over an eight hole stretch.
