The coach was coy; but not the captain.

While Ottawa Senators head coach Paul MacLean refused to answer, categorically, whether or not Daniel Alfredsson would be returning to play Game 6 against the New York Rangers after missing three games to concussion, Alfredsson himself said he was "looking forward to playing."

MacLean let on that he was in a bit of a quandary concerning the return to health of his captain and the arrival of Swedish elite league sensation Jakob Silfverberg, who joined the Senators for the Monday morning skate.

"Silfverberg or Alfredsson?" MacLean said, juggling his options with his hands.

It's a no-brainer, however, if Alfredsson is fit to play. While he has only one point, a goal, to show for the parts of two games he played prior to taking an elbow in the head from Rangers forward Carl Hagelin, Alfredsson is heart, soul and power play quarterback for the Senators, who lead the series three games to two.

Hagelin will also return to play tonight, having served his three-game suspension for the illegal hit.

"I expect to feel good," Alfredsson said.

As for Silfverberg, it is possible that the MVP of Swedish hockey could also play.

"It's a dream come true," said the 21-year-old star of Brynas, who lead the Swedish elite league with 24 goals and 30 assists this season and then led Brynas to the league championship.

If Ottawa wins tonight, the series is over. If New York wins, Game 7 will decide the series Thursday night in New York.
