Record hunt

Canada is shooting for a sixth gold medal in a row, which would be a record for the country and create another historical pursuit next year in Buffalo, when the Canadians would be chasing the former Soviet Union's mark of seven consecutive championships.

Vengeance

The United States has blown big leads against Canada in consecutive tournaments, giving away three-goal and two-goal advantages in 2009 and 2010, respectively. Uncle Sam is owed one.

Taylor Hall v. Cam Fowler

The Canadian winger and the U.S. defenceman are expected to be among the first three selections in the 2010 NHL entry draft. They are also teammates with the Ontario Hockey League's Windsor Spitfires, meaning the gold-medal game is a rare chance to see them face each other.
