Montreal Canadiens defenceman Greg Pateryn blocks the puck in front of goalie Carey Price during the first period at the United Center in Chicago.

Defencemen Greg Pateryn and Davis Drewiske were among five players assigned to the AHL Hamilton Bulldogs by the Montreal Canadiens on Thursday.

Forwards Sven Andrighetto, Jake Dowell and Gabriel Dumont were also sent to the Bulldogs, who are holding training camp in St. John's, NL.

Drewiske and Dumont were placed on waivers.

Forward Drayson Bowman, who was in camp on a tryout, was negotiating a contract with the club and did not take part in practice.

The moves left 28 players in the Canadiens' camp.
