The Vancouver Canucks signed forward Bill Sweatt to a contract on Thursday.
Sweatt, 21, led Colorado College in scoring in 2009-10, registering 33 points (15 goals, 18 assists) in 39 games. He has recorded 109 points (46-63) in 143 games in his collegiate career.
The six-foot native of Elburn, Ill., won a bronze medal with the United States at the 2007 world junior championships.
He was named top forward at the IIHF under-18 world championships in 2006, collecting seven points and helping the Americans win gold.
