Five NHL games to watch Add to ...

Rangers at Flyers

The annual Winter Classic is a bit of a rival game, although there are fiercer rivalries around the NHL. But since both teams are in the fight for first place in the Eastern Conference this should be an emotional afternoon. Monday, 3 p.m., NBC, CBC, RDS.

Sharks at Canucks

This game kicks off a tough week for the Vancouver boys, as they follow their date with the San Jose Sharks by playing the Minnesota Wild and Boston Bruins on Wednesday and Saturday, respectively Monday, 8 p.m., Sportsnet Pacific, NBC Sports Network.

Jets at Maple Leafs

This closes out a home-and-home pairing, as they met in Winnipeg last Saturday with the Jets winning 3-2. Thursday, 7 p.m., Leafs TV, TSN-Jets.

Canucks at Bruins

This is the first meeting between these teams since the contentious Stanley Cup final last spring, when Boston pushed around the Vancouver lads to win. Saturday, 1 p.m., Sportsnet Pacific.

Red Wings at Maple Leafs

This is the only non-conference game the Leafs have this week but they desperately need a win against the big boys from Detroit to get off the schneid. Saturday, 7 p.m., CBC.

All times Eastern
