Calgary Flames right-winger Jarome Iginla was named the NHL's first star of the week Monday after recording six points over three games.

He had four goals and two assists to help the Flames record three victories last week.

Minnesota Wild goalie Matt Hackett earned the second star and Washington Capitals defenceman John Carlson took the third star.

Hackett went 2-0-0 last week with a 1.01 goals-against average and .974 save percentage.

Carlson had seven points (one goal, six assists) to help the Capitals win two of three games over the stretch.
