The Philadelphia have added another big-ticket defenceman, acquiring Andrej Meszaros from the Tampa Bay Lightning for a second-round pick in 2012.

Meszaros has four years left on his contract and carries an annual cap hit of $4-million.

The 24-year-old joins a blue-line that already includes Chris Pronger, Kimmo Timonen and Matt Carle.

Meszaros had six goals and 17 points in 81 games for the Lightning last season.

In 379 career NHL games with Ottawa and Tampa, he has 34 goals and 143 points.
