The Philadelphia Flyers have signed forward Sean Couturier to a two-year contract extension, the club announced on Saturday.
The deal, which will take effect in 2014-15 at the conclusion of Couturier’s entry-level contract, is worth $3.5-million and will carry an annual cap hit of $1.75-million.
Selected with the eighth overall pick in the 2011 NHL entry draft, the 20-year-old forward scored four goals and added 11 assists in 46 games to wrap up his second season with the Flyers.
Prior to the beginning of the lockout-shortened season, Couturier played with Philadelphia’s AHL affiliate, the Adirondack Phantoms, scoring 28 points in 31 games.Report Typo/Error
