Matt Frattin scored twice to help the Toronto Marlies snap a three-game losing streak with a 4-1 victory over the Rochester Americans in American Hockey League action Friday.

Carter Ashton and Jerry D'Amigo also scored for the Marlies (10-8-1), while Ben Scrivens made 28 saves.

Maxime Legault had the lone goal for the Americans (9-8-1), and netminder David Leggio stopped 27 shots.

The victory kept Toronto ahead of Rochester by two points for third place in the North Division.

Two quick goals gave Toronto a 2-0 lead in the first period.

Ashton put Toronto on the scoreboard with a power-play goal at 16:02, and Frattin scored his first just 15 seconds later.

Frattin added another early in the second for a 3-0 lead.

Legault broke Scrivens' shutout 3:46 into the third, but D'Amigo's empty-net goal capped the scoring in the final minute of regulation.
