BRANDON - Is the answer to the Calgary Flames' management issue - what to do with GM Darryl Sutter? - here at the MasterCard Memorial Cup?

Rumours are starting that Kelly Kisio, the Calgary Hitmen's highly-successful GM, will soon ascend to the Flames' front office, where he will assist Sutter.

When last heard from, Sutter and team president Ken King met with the media after the team failed to make the playoffs and insisted there were no plans for a change in leadership. Instead, Sutter mentioned how there could be additions made to get the Flames back on track.

Given Kisio's track record - he's taken the Hitmen to the WHL playoffs ffor 11 consecutive years and to the Memorial Cup twice - he'd be a solid fit. Kisio played for the Flames, scouted for them and has developed a keen eye for developing talent.

Added to that, the Flames have dipped into the Hitmen ranks before. Last season, the NHL team added Dave Lowry to its coaching staff. Lowry had been head coach of the Hitmen the year before.

Kisio is busy here working in the background as his team prepares for Friday night's semi-final against the Brandon Wheat Kings.
