Leaf links: Is Scrivens the answer? Add to ...

His teammates only showed up for about 20 minutes last night, but that was of little concern to young Ben Scrivens who did an admirable job stepping into the quagmire that is the Toronto Maple Leafs’ crease. The recently recalled netminder turned aside 37 St. Louis shots in regulation and all three shootout attempts he faced to carry the blue and white back into the win column.

While Scrivens has certainly earned the right to start Saturday at home against the Senators, there’s still plenty of questions surrounding the team’s goaltending picture. How much longer will James Reimer be sidelined with his injury? Does coach Ron Wilson have any faith left in Jonas Gustavsson? Shouldthe team pursue a veteran like Marty Turco or Evgeni Nabokov? Stay tuned.
