First an apology. Yesterday's links column got lost in the shuffle as we were immersed in covering the Rogers - MLSE story.

This morning we shift our attention back to the ice, where the Leafs host the Edmonton Oilers (7 p.m. LEAFS TV) at the ACC.

While this is a rare opportunity for the Leafs to face a team equally as far down the standings, it will be difficult not to look at the young talent assembled by the visitors and feel a little jealous. Players such as Taylor Hall, Jordan Eberle and Magnus Paajarvi are the type of prospects struggling franchises are supposed to draft while the current squad languishes on the ice. As Sean Gordon mentions in his story on Edmonton's win over Montreal last night, it allows your fans to feel excited and hopeful for the future instead of angry and depressed about the present.
