The Florida Panthers have signed centre Dave Bolland to a five-year, $27.5-million contract.

Bolland was limited to 23 games with Toronto last season after suffering a severed ankle tendon. He had eight goals and four assists.

The Toronto native spent the previous six seasons with Chicago, scoring the Stanley Cup-winning goal for the Blackhawks in the 2013 playoffs.

In 355 career games with Chicago and Toronto, Bolland has 78 goals, 102 assists and 235 penalty minutes.
