Toronto Maple Leafs captain Dion Phaneuf and Canadian actress Elisha Cuthbert are engaged according to a recent Facebook post on the wall of a Prince Edward Island restaurant.

The entry by the New Glasgow eatery Suppers says a private party was held for the couple on Saturday night.

Cuthbert, 29, known for her role in the television series 24 and is now starring in Happy Endings. She has appeared in movies Old School, The Girl Next Door, Love Actually and House of Wax.

Phaneuf is entering his third season with the Maple Leafs. Before the couple started dating in 2008, Cuthbert was also known for past romances with NHL hockey players including former New York Rangers tough guy Sean Avery.

The restaurant flaunted hosting the engagement in its Internet post: "Like I always say - there is never a dull moment at NGLS!!
Last night we hosted a private party for Toronto Maple Leaf's Cptn Dion Phaneuf where he and Canadian actress Elisha Cuthbert announced their engagement! A nice surprise for all their guests! Congrats to them both and LOVE the ring!!!!"

A source told Us Weekly that 40 friends and family were invited to the restaurant and that Phaneuf "made the reservation about a week ago but never said it was for an engagement party."
