Cam Levins shatters Canadian indoor 5,000-metre record

Cam Levins shattered the Canadian record in the indoor 5,000 metres Thursday night.

The distance runner from Black Creek, B.C., crossed the finish in 13 minutes 19.16 seconds at the Boston University Multi-Event meet, breaking the previous record of 13:25.87 set by Jason Bunston in 1997.

Levins is gearing up for the 3,000-metre race at the world indoor championships, March 7-9 in Sopot, Poland.
