Jennifer Hopkins won gold at the paratriathlon world championships Friday while fellow Canadian Stefan Daniel earned bronze.

Hopkins, from Ottawa, captured her third straight world title in the women's les autres category. Daniel, a 16-year-old Calgarian, took bronze in the men's arm impairment classification in his debut at the event.

Eleni Papadopoulos of Great Britain won silver in the women's event and American Beth Price took the bronze. Germany's Martin Schulz won gold in the men's event and Yannick Bourseaux of France earned the silver.

Winnipeg's Chantal Denholm finished fourth in the women's arm impairment class. Ryan Van Praet of Chatham, Ont., and his guide, Syd Trefiak, took sixth in the men's visually impaired category.
