The Canadian women's team qualified for the final at the world junior curling championship with a 9-3 win over Sweden on Friday.
Skip Rachel Homan of Ottawa was in control after storming out to an early 7-0 lead on Anna Hasselborg.
"It's kind of scary to have a lead like that so early in a game," Homan said. "We just kept control of the game after that and did not allow her to build up any big ends."
The United States defeated host Switzerland 6-4 in the 3-versus-4 playoff.
The Americans will play Sweden in the semi-final on Saturday, with the winner to meet Canada for the title on Sunday.
Earlier, the Canadian men's team defeated Norway 8-4 to lock up the final playoff spot.
Skip Jake Walker of Kitchener, Ont., led until the seventh end when Norway's Steffen Mellemseter scored three to tie the match 4-4.
Canada rebounded with three in the eighth end and stole another point in the ninth to seal the victory.
Canada finished the round robin at 6-3 and will next play Switzerland (7-2) in the 3-versus-4 Page playoff game Saturday. Scotland and China will meet in the 1-versus-2 game.
The men's medal games will also be played Sunday.
