It was a great day for Canadian juniors at Wimbledon on Friday as Vancouver's Filip Peliwo and Montreal's Eugenie Bouchard each qualified for their respective finals.

Peliwo is off to his third junior Grand Slam boys' final of the season thanks to a 5-7, 7-6 (3), 6-3 victory over Mitchell Kreuger of the U.S. in the semfinals.

Meanwhile, Bouchard beat Anett Kontaveit of Estonia 7-6 (7-3), 6-4 in their girls' semifinal to advance.

Peliwo, 18, lost both the Australian and French Open finals this year but will be hoping to make it third time lucky when he plays Australian Luke Saville, who defeated Italy's Gianluigi Quinzi, 6-3, 6-4 in the other semi.

Saville beat Peliwo for the Melbourne junior title in January.

Bouchard will take on No. 3 Elena Svitolina in the girls' final after the Ukrainian beat Montreal's Francoise Abanda, 6-4, 3-6, 6-2.

Bouchard lost to Kontaveit at the French Open but said she was more mentally tough this time around.

"As soon as she was getting her good shots, I was like 'I don't know what to do any more,"' Bouchard said. "This time I was ready for them. I got a bit pressured by them, but I knew she couldn't keep that up for three sets. So, I think I was more prepared."

Peliwo, who was devastated by his finals defeat a month ago in Paris, showed solid form as he recovered from a set and a break down against Kreuger.

"I'm always going to fight but there's always that little thought in the back of your mind where you think, 'It's going to be very difficult to come back from this.' It's not very often that it does happen. Today I ended up playing some big points when I needed them and it worked.

"On grass, it's difficult the way he was going. I knew it was possible to come back. I knew I could do it but I didn't believe I was going to do it."

Peliwo won in just under two and a half hours with five aces, three breaks of serve, 34 winners and 33 unforced errors.
