Kenya shocked Fiji 30-7 in the final of the Singapore Rugby Sevens on Sunday to claim its first World Series title while Canada endured yet more disappointment.

Collins Injera scored two of Kenya's six tries as the African team won the Cup competition at a World Series leg for the first time in 114 tournaments, adding their name to the list of prospective Olympics gold medalists in Rio de Janeiro later this year.

The Canadian men finished tied for 15th in the 16-team tournament after losing their fifth successive game of the weekend. After dropping games to the United States, New Zealand and France on Saturday, Canada was beaten first by 26-19 by Scotland and finally 24-22 by Wales in the consolation Shield semi-final. Against the Welsh, the Canadians rallied from a 17-12 deficit to lead 22-17 but gave up a late converted try.

Justin Douglas scored two tries for Canada with singles from Nathan Hirayama and Lucas Hammond, Canada, after its worst result in eight stops this season, remains 13th in the overall standings.
