Britain's Prince Harry ropes in top talent to promote the Invictus Games for disabled military personnel, more details of which can be found at https://invictusgamesfoundation.org. Mana Rabiee reports.Reuters

Prince Harry says Toronto will soon be playing host to an event he founded out of a desire to give back to his fellow soldiers.

Harry says the Invictus Games, an Olympic-style event for wounded veterans, will be hosted in Toronto in September 2017.

The 31-year-old royal says the event will feature more sports and competitors than at any time since the games' inception in 2014, and will see troops from 16 countries taking part.

Harry told a gathering of servicemen and servicewomen at the Farimont Royal York Hotel in Toronto that his desire to found the games began when he was forced to leave his military unit in Afghanistan after his presence was leaked to the media.

He said the guilt he experienced then helped set him on a path to finding a way to honour fellow soldiers.

Harry was joined at the morning ceremony by a number of dignitaries including Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and Ontario Premier Kathleen Wynne.

The prince will later attend a sledge hockey exhibition game — along with Trudeau — at Ryerson University's Mattamy Athletic Centre.

He will also have a private afternoon meeting with Ontario Lt.-Gov. Elizabeth Dowdeswell.
