Barcelona and Spain striker David Villa returned to action on Saturday as he appeared briefly in a 2-0 friendly success for Barcelona over Dinamo Bucharest in Romania.
Villa, the Spanish national team's all-time leading goalscorer, fractured his tibia in the semi-finals of the Club World Cup in Japan in December last year, missing the second half of the season and Spain's triumphant Euro 2012 campaign as a result.
He played for 18 minutes of a win secured with goals from Argentine star Lionel Messi and Dutch flier Ibrahim Affelay.
The Spanish league season begins next weekend, with Barcelona kicking off with a home fixture against Real Sociedad.
