The Montreal Impact signed second-round draft pick Paolo DelPiccolo on Friday.

The Wheat Ridge, Colo., native has been training with the Impact since June 3. The midfielder played in two reserve team games as well as the under-21 Impact squad's friendly match against the Haitian national team on June 22.

The deal is pending receipt of his international transfer certificate as DelPiccolo spent time this year with Eintract Frankfurt in Germany, mainly with its under-23 team.

The 22-year-old was selected 27th overall in this year's MLS SuperDraft after four seasons at the University of Louisville, where he set a team record with 23 career assists.
