The Montreal Impact will host French Cup champion Olympique Lyonnais in July.

The division-one club will take on the Impact on July 24 at Saputo Stadium.

Olympique Lyonnais is one of France's most successful clubs, having won a national record seven consecutive titles from 2001-2008.

Olympique Lyonnais follows Bordeaux, River Plate, Fiorentina and AC Milan as the Impact's latest international opponent.

Impact president Joey Saputo said in a statement that the match is the latest step in Montreal's effort to develop a relationship with Ligue 1.

"It is important for us to organize international matches like we've done in the past," he said Wednesday. "We want to continue to build Montreal as an important market in North America for international games."

Montreal has a 3-6-3 record in its debut season in Major League Soccer.
