Facebook Inc. has opened an office in Montreal to better tap into business opportunities in Quebec.

The company announced Wednesday that its latest Canadian branch is now open, with two employees based in Montreal to serve businesses looking to expand their presence on the social network.

Facebook also launched a temporary office in Vancouver last month, which was expected to stay open for a year-long stint.

Facebook, which says it has 18 million users in Canada, opened its first Canadian office in Toronto in November, 2009.
