"It's almost here."

In its typically cryptic manner the world's most valuable company, Apple Inc., invited media to San Francisco for a Sept. 12 event, where it let us all know what "it" was.

We now know it's the iPhone 5, and it's thinner, taller, faster, stronger ... and all the usual Apple updates. Check out the transcript of our liveblog, below, for a chronology of the product launch (stay tuned for the Foo Fighters at the end).
