Stephen Harper (born April 30, 1959) is Canada's 22nd Prime Minister and former leader of the Conservative party. After his party won power in the 2006 election, he oversaw two short minority governments before winning a majority in 2011. His Conservative government was defeated in Oct., 2015 by Justin Trudeau's Liberal Party. He continues to sit in Parliament as an MP representing the riding of Calgary-Heritage.
