Before the bell: Futures hold slight gains after jobs data

North American stock futures held onto modest gains as the U.S. released stronger-than-expected nonfarm payrolls data, showing 288,000 net new jobs in June versus expectations for 215,000. The unemployment rate also unexpectedly dropped two notches to 6.1 per cent.
