Two minutes, one second: Anomalisa

It’s been seven years since Charlie Kaufman’s last movie. He’s finally back as the writer and co-director of this stop-motion film, which uses puppets (so perfectly Kaufmanesque) to tell the story of a motivational speaker suffering an existential crisis. Critics have been raving about it and now the first trailer is finally available. (youtube.com)

Two hours: With Bob and David

Bob Odenkirk and David Cross’s new sketch show will hopefully be just as funny as their cult favourite from the 1990s, Mr. Show. But let’s also hope it reaches a wider audience. The four 30-minute episodes feature a slate of talent that includes Paul F. Tompkins, Jill Talley and Scott Aukerman. Debuts Friday.

Ten minutes: The Rebirth of Justin Bieber

Justin Bieber journalism is a cottage industry that predictably reinforces why you want to wedgie the Biebs. Rarely does it challenge your ideas of who the 21-year-old actually is. But a new cover story in Billboard magazine manages that feat. It might not make you like Bieber, but it will make you see him in a new light. (billboard.com)

Three minutes, twenty-nine seconds: Do You Want to Get High?

The new song from Weezer will take you back to the glory days of Pinkerton, the band’s second album – and still the favourite of many fans. Revel in the distortion and frontman Rivers Cuomo’s lovely harmonies. (youtube.com)
