In recent years, the traditionally American phenomenon of Black Friday sales has made its way across the border . For many retailers, Black Friday has become one of the highest grossing sales events all year. Many auto makers have taken notice and launched additional incentives just in time for consumers in a shopping mood.
Kia, Ford, Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge, Ram and Fiat have all announced a $500 bonus rebate in addition to existing offers on nearly every new model purchased or leased for the remainder of the month. Hyundai is now offering an additional $1,000 bonus rebate in addition to existing offers on select in-stock dealer inventory. And Honda reduced its finance and lease rates on the 2016 CR-V and increased its cash rebate on the 2015 CR-V and Accord by $500 earlier this week.
However, several auto makers we spoke with said competition to provide value is so fierce they no longer rely on a single event to drive sales. "It's been Black Friday every day this month with our current offers," said Jason Legere, General Manager, Retail Sales Operations at Volkswagen Canada, in explaining its incentive programs for November which featured improved offers across nearly all 2016 models as compared to October.

2016 Kia Soul
Cash purchasers can now take advantage of a $1,500 manufacturer incentive on the 2016 Soul (compared to $1,000 in October). Financing for up to 84 months is available at 0.99 per cent interest and leasing for up to 60 months is available at 2.9 per cent interest. Kia’s Black Friday offer, available for the rest of the month, is an additional $500 incentive.

2015 Ford Fusion
Cash purchase, finance and lease customers can now take advantage of a $3,500 manufacturer incentive on the 2015 Fusion. The No-Extra-Charge Winter Safety Package program launched by Ford last month continues into November for many of its models including the Fusion. The package includes four winter tires with steel wheels and tire pressure monitoring sensors, or customers can choose a $750 cash incentive in lieu of the package. Ford has also brought back its popular Costco Members Offer which results in an additional $1,000 incentive for eligible members for the rest of the year. Finally, Ford’s Black Friday offer, available for the rest of the month, is an additional $750 incentive applied after-tax.

Cash purchase, finance and lease customers can now take advantage of a $2,000 manufacturer incentive on the 2016 Wrangler Unlimited (compared to zero in September). Jeep’s Black Friday offer available for the rest of the month is an additional $500 incentive applied after-tax.
