Figures in brackets for earnings are Thomson Reuters mean estimates per share and usually represent adjusted earnings. Economic forecasts are based on economists surveys conducted by Dow Jones.

Monday, Dec. 16

(9 a.m. ET) Canadian Real Estate Association releases MLS sales for November.

(830 a.m. ET) U.S. Empire State Manufacturing Survey for December.

(830 a.m. ET) U.S. productivity and costs for the third-quarter.

(830 a.m. ET) U.S. PMI Manufacturing flash index.

(915 a.m. ET) U.S. industrial production and capacity utilization.

Tuesday, Dec. 17

(830 a.m. ET) Canadian manufacturing sales for October.

(830 a.m. ET) U.S. Consumer Price Index for November. Economists are looking for a rise of 0.1 per cent, after declining 0.1 per cent in October.

(10 a.m. ET) U.S. housing market index for December, forecast to rise to 55 from 54.

Wednesday, Dec. 18

(830 a.m. ET) Canadian wholesale trade for October.

(830 a.m. ET) U.S. housing starts for November. They are expected to come in at an annualized rate of 950,000.

(2 p.m. ET) FOMC meeting announcement and economic forecasts. Fed press conference to follow at 230 p.m.

(10 a.m. ET) U.S. existing home sales for November, forecast to fall to 5.05 million annualized from 5.12 million.
