At an event like the Scotiabank Giller Prize, most of the tables boast a list of the city’s who’s who in the literary, arts and media scene. But it was Lynn Coady who stole the real spotlight of the night, winning for her book of short stories Hellgoing. Coady joins a list of iconic CanLit rock stars and noted in her acceptance speech that she’s proud to come from a country that treats their writers like celebrities.
