LISTING AGENT Bill Thom, Re/Max Realtron Realty Inc.

The Action: On a 58- by 125-foot ravine lot in Bayview Village, this Cape Cod-style residence was sought out by about 20 buyers requesting showings. It later sold on the day offers were accepted.

What They Got: About two decades ago, an original brick and stone bungalow from the 1960s was expanded into a two-storey house with a peaked roofline and sky-lit staircase to four bedrooms, including a master retreat with an office, a walk-in closet, balcony and six-piece ensuite, which is the largest of four bathrooms. Entertaining areas consist of a living room with a gas fireplace and a study area, a formal dining room and a combined kitchen and fireside family room with a walkout to a 189-square-foot deck, in addition to a lower-level recreation room with a wet bar, brick fireplace and a walkout to the interlocking patio.

Other assets include an extra bedroom and kitchen in the basement, a newer high efficiency furnace and an attached double garage.

The Agent's Take: "It's on beautiful tableland ravine on a quiet, cul-de-sac," says agent Bill Thom. "The house is definitely very spacious with a granite kitchen and a fireplace, but it just needs some updating because it has some wallpaper. Other than that, the bones are good." Many visitors were also pleased by the quality of local amenities. "It's within the school district of Earl Haig and that's partly why buyers are looking, too," adds Mr. Thom.
