The Action: Even with another nearby million-dollar property for sale in North Riverdale, this detached, three-storey residence with century-old accents drew a healthy contingent of well-heeled buyers undeterred by the $1.4-million price tag. Two visitors ponied up strong offers and the seller accepted an $87,000-over-asking bid.

What They Got: A few houses east of Broadview Avenue and Riverdale Park, this brick Tudor Revival has a traditional six-bedroom and three-bathroom plan with multiple living areas displaying original traits, such as wood trims and pocket doors in the living room and formal dining area also topped with beamed ceilings.

There is a modern kitchen with ceramic floors and two sunrooms, including one off a second-floor bedroom, plus an unfinished basement with a separate entry to a mutual driveway, garage and south-facing backyard on the 32-by-83-foot lot.

Upper-floor highlights consist of a second-floor bedroom with a covered balcony and third-floor master suite with a walk-in closet and four-piece bathroom.

The Agent's Take: "Riverdale attracts every person, especially that street, Fairview Boulevard. It's one of the most popular," says agent Lina Risi, who also resides on the treed street.

"Three or four bedrooms are more in keeping with semis because that's what we have more of in the area. Very few detached homes come available, especially on a prime street like that."

So buyers saw the value in updating the home.

"It's a very unique house because of its amazing Victorian stained glass, a beautiful stone front porch that is extra-large and old beautiful stonework you don't see often in a home," Ms. Risi says.
