The only man convicted in the 1985 Air India terror bombings will be back in a B.C. courtroom on June 14 to appeal his sentence for perjury.
Inderjit Singh Reyat was convicted of perjury after testifying in 2003 at the trial of Ripudaman Singh Malik and Ajaib Singh Bagri, who were acquitted of mass murder and conspiracy in the bombings.
A judge found Mr. Reyat lied 19 times, and he was given a nine-year sentence for perjury.
His lawyer argues the sentence is excessive.
Mr. Reyat was also convicted of manslaughter for making a bomb as part of the attacks and served a 10 year sentence.
The bombings killed more than 300 people, most of them aboard a jumbo jet off the coast of Ireland.
