A truck that's believed to have hit a Regina police officer earlier this week has been located, but investigators are still looking for a man they think was at the wheel.

Police initially spotted a white Ford F-350 on Wednesday that had been reported missing from Alberta.

Officers at the time were trying to find Jason John Dunlop, who is 33, on a Canada-wide warrant for being unlawfully at large from a Red Deer institution.

They tried to make contact with the driver, who sped away and allegedly struck a plainclothes officer.

Supt. Lance Dudar says the officer suffered non-life-threatening injuries and is recovering in hospital.

Dudar says the truck was located in a north-end neighbourhood and they consider Dunlop a person of interest in the hit-and-run.
