Police say a female cyclist has died of her injuries after being struck and dragged by a truck in downtown Toronto.

Investigators say the 25-year-old woman died in hospital on Sunday after being critically injured last Wednesday morning.

Police say was riding in a marked bicycle curb lane (on Spadina Avenue near Dundas Street) when she came into contact with the trailer attached to the Volvo truck.

They say she was then caught by the rear wheels of the trailer and dragged a short distance.

Her name has not been released.

There's no word on any charges.

She was Toronto's 49th traffic fatality of the year.
