A father and daughter are being hailed as heroes after they pulled a man off the subway tracks at a north Toronto station Saturday night.

The man was waiting for a train at Yorkdale station when he had a medical emergency that caused him to fall down to track level and hit his head.

The father and daughter jumped onto the tracks and lifted the man back onto the platform, where others administered first aid until paramedics arrived.

Police say the man is recovering in hospital.
