An 80-year-old woman is in hospital in serious condition and a driver is being questioned by police after a lunchtime hit-and-run incident in North York.
The unidentified victim sustained head and leg injuries when she was struck by a car on Yonge Street south of York Mills Road shortly before 1:30 p.m. Thursday, police said.
The vehicle that hit her drove away but its driver later turned himself in.
No charges have been laid but the intersection remains closed off as investigators examine the scene.
