One person is dead after a shooting in Toronto’s east end.

The Emergency Medical Service said that it responded to a call at 1:15 p.m. at Neilson Road and Military Trail and found a man in his 20s suffering a gunshot wound.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene, according to EMS.

Police could not be reached immediately for comment.

In a release late Sunday, police said the victim has been identified as Jay Bennie Yabut, 28.

Police said that Mr. Yabut was found in the garage of the home on Military Trail and was pronounced dead at the scene.

They said that two males wearing dark clothing were seen running westbound from the home at the time of the incident.
