A couple charged in a case related to G20 summit security is scheduled to appear in court this afternoon for a bail hearing.

Byron Sonne and Kristen Peterson are the common-law couple currently behind bars after police raided their million-dollar home in Toronto's north end Tuesday.

Mr. Sonne - an Internet security expert - faces charges of possession of explosives, weapons dangerous and mischief.

His artist wife, Kristen Peterson, is charged with possession of an explosive device and possession of weapon for dangerous purpose.

Reached by phone at her home in Brampton, Mr. Sonne's mother refused to say whether she would be attending the bail hearing this afternoon.

Valerie Sonne said she is standing by her son and his wife.

"We love and support our son Byron and his wife Kristen and other than that, no comment," she said.
