For the third election in a row, American voters have upended their nation's political order. Their deep frustration with an unresponsive system has again led them to recast its central players.

The Republicans have taken control of the House, the Democrats retained a slim lead in the Senate and Barack Obama faces a gridlocked Congress for the final two years of his term.

At 1 p.m. ET today Mr. Obama will face a news conference to discuss the historic 2010 U.S. midterm elections, join us live as we recap what he has to say.
