The Canadian Press is reporting that police have added a water cannon to their G20 arsenal. Provincial police Const. Michelle Murphy of the Integrated Security Unit says the water projection system will be used to control large crowds if there are riots.
The police have also obtained four Long Range Accousting Devices, or LRADs, to use during the G20. The Canadian Civil Liberties Association has applied for an injunction to stop them using the weapon function, which blasts a high pitched noise to incapacitate protesters.
