LISTING AGENT Ed Allan, Re/Max Professionals Inc.

The Action: A quiet, treed street in Etobicoke had so few vacancies that the sellers of this detached bungalow were quickly handed half a dozen bids after upwards of 60 potential buyers – largely builders and renovators – toured the grounds.

What They Got: Save for roughly six decades of wear, this brick bungalow appears the same with classic living and dining rooms with hardwood floors, traditional kitchen, two bedrooms and a bathroom, plus an unfinished basement.

Front and back entrances lead out a private driveway and south-facing backyard respectively.

The Agent's Take: "It's a great property, but needs a lot of work," agent Ed Allan states. "The lot is 40 by 133 [feet], which is a good building lot."

Construction is even taking place on the lot behind this home, which is surrounded by supermarkets, schools, restaurants, shops, cinemas.

"It's a hot area," Mr. Allan says. "The funny thing about the whole area is that I was selling those houses in the mid-90s for $150,000 and people were laughing because they thought it was overpriced. That today would just cover renovations."
