LISTING AGENT Harman Atkins, HomeLife/Cimerman Real Estate Ltd.

The Action: It was nearly a decade ago when the last penthouse was available in a 30-year-old building on Jarvis Street, so this two-bedroom corner penthouse sold for close to list price after a steady stream of private showings.

What They Got: In the top northeast corner of a 14-storey building, this roughly 1,200-square-foot unit was recently renovated to a high calibre with travertine floors, marble counters, glass pebble backsplashes and stainless steel appliances.

Picture windows bring sunlight into the breakfast area in the kitchen and an open living and dining area with sliding doors to a balcony, which can also be reached via a master suite with one of the two full bathrooms.

Downstairs, the homeowner has access to a parking spot, gym, hot tub, party room and rooftop terrace, which is covered by monthly fees of $708, along with water and hydro bills.

The Agent's Take: "It's a small building with only 44 units. With only four suites per floor, all the suites were corner units," agent Harman Atkins said. "This one was on the penthouse level, so it had beautiful, unobstructed panoramic views."

The fresh look of this penthouse was also memorable to buyers. "That particular unit was completely renovated from floor to ceiling," Mr. Harman said.

"The price was significantly lower than buying a new construction condo of the same size from the builder and also it had a level of quality finishes you wouldn't get in a new construction product."
